COMPANY PROFILE

The ipClarity solution is the result of many years experience within the telecommunications and IT industries. Through this experience it was clear that telecommunications and Internet connectivity is vital to business continuity and represents a significant operating cost to most organizations. Through extensive customer feedback it became evident that there was a need to simplify the management of infrastructure and network performance and so development of ipClarity began.

December 19, 1997
Performance Reporting Services Limited (PRS) was founded by Hash Valabh. Since it's inception PRS has provided outsourced performance reporting for integrators and carriers.

In order to provide this service, raw SNMP information is exported from existing management stations and manipulated to provide visual monthly reports. This process is extremely complex, time consuming, paper based and few products exist to assist in the automation of this process. Any products that are available are extremely expensive, complex to use, require end user training and technical staff to run.

February 1999
Customer feedback shows the necessity for reporting that is more flexible, not just monthly reports. Development begins on an automated online reporting solution designed to remove the previously manual and complex work required to create flexible and useful reports which can be scheduled to run on demand at regular intervals (i.e. daily, weekly, monthly). Raw SNMP data is gathered from a centralized polling engine and reports are presented in PDF form.

March 2000
Customers require more 'real-time' functionality, and the ability to troubleshoot faults. Product is re-architected to allow:

  • Real time HTML reports (including filtering)
  • Distributed polling with network appliance (DataSink)

August 2002
Customers require more 'management' functionality - they want configurable thresholds and alarms so the product was re-architected to allow:

  • Thresholds and alarming
  • Centralized configuration interface

January 23, 2003
Hash Valabh and Wayne Toddun form the brand and company ipClarity to drive the marketing and sell online performance management and reporting solutions globally using the technology developed by PRS

June 13, 2007
The founders of ipClarity launch a Website Monitoring service called IPCheckpoint.

FOUNDERS' PROFILES

Hash Valabh, Chief Scientist

Hash has been involved in the information technology industry for over 20 years. He began his working career in software development and quickly progressed into management. He spent 3 years at Netway Communications* as Customer Services Manager. At that time Netway was a joint venture between Telecom, the incumbent and largest carrier in New Zealand, and the Freightways Group. It was in 1991 that Hash developed Netway's first customer performance report and since that time he has specialized in the field of performance reporting. Hash then moved on to Logical, a global network integrator, where he helped develop and deliver an outsourced management and performance reporting product - Sentinel.

In 1997, having worked with many products in network management and reporting, Hash set up PRS to develop and create a unique product that eliminates the complexity and limitations once associated with performance reporting and network management.

*Netway is now owned in its entirety by Telecom New Zealand.

Wayne Toddun, Chief Executive Officer

Wayne has been involved in the Data Networking and Telecommunications industry for the last 15 years. He has held a variety of roles in various organizations including Integrators, Carriers and Service Providers. He founded Janus Distributors in 1997, an importer of telecommunications hardware, and Attica Communications in 1998. Attica built a nationwide network in New Zealand providing the countries first truly integrated voice, data and Internet solutions to enterprise customers and competing carriers. It was at Attica that he architected Commverge, a carrier based integrated IP voice, data and Internet solution. Wayne merged Attica with CallPlus Limited in 2001 and remains a Director and shareholder.

CallPlus is currently the third largest Carrier in New Zealand. Wayne was also a founding shareholder and director of i4free, New Zealand's first truly free ISP (Internet Service Provider), which has since evolved into Slingshot.
